As a 501(c)(3) public charity, The Scheherazade Project depends on your tax-deductible funds and support to: organize activism through storytelling arts events ; provide resources to inspire visual, literary, and performing artists to utilize the power of creativity as a means to amplify our voices as public citizens; and provide a platform for those voices to be heard. Gifts of any size are deeply appreciated. We hope you'll consider giving $50, $100, or more.

The Scheherazade needs volunteers and interns. Positions are available on an ongoing basis to help with publicity, outreach, programming, fundraising, administration, social media management, and event support. You do not need to be a storytelling artist to fill these positions. If you are interested, please contact us. Send a resume (or an overview of educational background and relevant work/volunteer history), a thoughtful cover letter outlining your interest in The Scheherazade Project and why you would be a good fit. Use Subject Line: TSP Volunteer [Last Name] or TSP Intern [Last Name].

Although COVID-19/CoronaVirus has made hosting live events impossible at the moment, we’re optimistically calling for auditions for Featured Storytellers to perform via livestream one per day from July 25th – November 2nd 2020. We will also include three-four larger shows to anchor the months-long event. In the event we can gather in-person, we will include live events in front of the White House.
Featured storytellers are chosen by a committee made up of members of the Scheherazade Project’s board of directors and other members of the Scheherazade Project community. |
Stories can be of any artform – spoken word, poetry, music, dance, painting, sculpture, you name it! They need not be political in nature. the Scheherazade Project stories can both distract from and draw attention to the dire situation we’re in. After all, we should release good energy into the world when we need it most!
